Will poor run defense bite Hokies late?

The numbers say this may be the Hokies' worst run defense in Frank Beamer's 24 years as coach, worse even than the losing teams that marked his early days. The only Beamer squads to allow opponents more than 3.6 yards per rush were 1987, his first year, and 1992. Virginia Tech yielded 4.6 and 4.2 in those seasons. Not coincidentally, those teams finished 2-9 and 2-8-1, Beamer's worst records. (Daily Press)
