Two-way star Tyler Alberts commits to UNC

Of all the things Tyler Alberts could have imagined happening to him right now, being offered a scholarship to play football at North Carolina would have been among the least expected. But that’s what happened over the weekend, and Alberts, a 6-8, 220-pound tight end and defensive end at Forsyth Country Day, committed to become the 18th member of UNC’s 2011 recruiting class. Alberts, a senior, has mostly been playing football for only about two months and once thought baseball would be the sport of his future. (Winston-Salem Journal)
