Building a home with the Batwa in Nteko is very different from building a home in the U.S. Everyone in the settlement pitched in as we mudded the frame of the house, and with over 40 sets of hands we were able to complete the mudding in about seven hours. When the mudding is complete and the door is put on, the house is complete and we pass it on the new homeowners. There is no insulation or siding put on the house and there is no bathroom.
