Roy Williams watches Shabazz Muhammad
Posted Jul 24, 2010
Six-foot-5 Shabazz Muhammad of Bishop Gorman High in Las Vegas - the aforementioned highly touted junior - was the main reason that head coaches such as Ben Howland, Roy Williams, Rick Pitino, Rick Barnes, Mike Brey and Mike Montgomery were in one of the three gymnasiums on the Rancho campus to watch Muhammad's Dream Vision squad play the Compton Magic in a pool-play game during the second day of the Adidas Super 64 Tournament. Muhammad - the son of Faye Paige, one of the greatest athletes ever from Poly High and Long Beach State - scored a game-high 24 points on a variety of left-handed jump shots, drives and rebound buckets.
