Picking the best basketball recruiters in the business
Posted Jun 25, 2010
When a coach does it at a variety of levels, as John Calipari has from Massachusetts to Memphis to Kentucky, he has to make the list. Ohio State's Thad Matta has an impressive record in terms of evaluation and salesmanship. I'd put Roy Williams in that trio, as well. Yes, he never has had to recruit for a program that didn't have country-club status long before he got there. But Williams works exceedingly hard – harder than he probably needs to, and that's easy to admire.
