Kendall Marshall was in the national limelight at an early age

Kendall Marshall made national headlines when Rick Reilly wrote a column in Sports Illustrated in December of 2002, questioning the wisdom of ranking fifth grade basketball players and the undue pressure placed on them as a result. Marshall was at the center of the story after being tabbed as the top fifth-grader in the country by Hoop Scoop. Marshall was already making a name for himself by then. (Inside NoVa)
