Dascenzo: Devils came out flat

When the sweat seemed to clear and the crowd bolted on an early March evening, there was Sylvia Hatchell, the Tar Heels' coach in her 22nd season, telling everybody what a great day it was for women's basketball. And who could blame her? "I've waited for this day," Hatchell said, a grin on her face that looked about as real as that 82-51 thumping her team had just put on Joanne P. McCallie's flat Blue Devils.
