Tar Heels stage furious comeback but ending stings against Yellow Jackets

For all the sound and fury of UNC’s second-half rally against visiting Georgia Tech on Saturday afternoon — a surge that saw it turn a 20-point hole into a two-point lead in the final two minutes — it left the Tar Heels in an increasingly familiar spot. A haze of clutch baskets and timely stops weren’t enough to overcome UNC’s parade of early stumbles, sending the No. 12 Tar Heels to a 73-71 setback, their third loss in four games.
