Tar Heels use height to their advantage against Gardner-Webb
Posted Nov 24, 2009
Baskets were mostly easy to come by for North Carolina on Monday night. The 11th-ranked Tar Heels feasted on shots close to the basket in a 93-72 victory against visiting Gardner-Webb at the Smith Center. “One of us was going to have a mismatch,” 6-foot-10 forward Ed Davis said. Deon Thompson, a senior forward, scored 16 of his 22 points in the first half. He became the 63rd player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark.
