P.J. Hairston doesn't waste time, commits to UNC

According to multiple sources, 6-foot-6 shooting guard P.J. Hairston verbally committed to UNC one day after Tar Heels coach Roy Williams offered him a scholarship. He is the first commitment for Williams in the Class of 2011. The ESPNU Super 60 prospect picked the defending national champions over Arizona, Wake Forest and Florida. ESPN.com Recruiting Coordinator Reggie Rankin just got through evaluating Hairston during the AAU Super Showcase event in Orlando, Fla. "This is another big, physical and athletic guard for Roy Williams," Rankin said. "He has great size and can get to the rim at will."
