TE Nelson Hurst Transferring to UNC

When UNC received a commitment from nationally ranked offensive lineman James Hurst from Indianapolis earlier this month, they received a bonus in the deal. Hurst’s older brother, Nelson, who made 10 starts at tight end for Mississippi State in 2008, will also be coming to North Carolina as a transfer. The 6-2, 250-pounder only caught two passes for 11 yards for the Bulldogs last season. But as a senior coming out of Plainfield High School he was rated the nation’s No. 34 tight end prospect by Scout.com and had scholarship offers from Central Michigan, Purdue and UCLA.
