Reggie Bullock held to 9 in playoff defeat

In just its second season of varsity basketball competition, the Northern Guilford boys basketball team is state championship bound.

The Nighthawks, who don't have a senior on the roster, looked anything but inexperienced in getting there as they overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to defeat defending state 3-A champion Kinston, 62-52, Saturday night at East Carolina University's Minges Coliseum.

Kinston grabbed its largest lead of the game at 38-28 on a layup with 2 minutes, 41 seconds remaining in the third quarter. But that was one of only three baskets for Bullock, who finished with nine points on 3-for-15 shooting from the floor. (Greensboro News & Record)
