Chris Iannetta 'humbled' to join Team USA

Friday, February 27, 2009

Colorado Rockies catcher Chris Iannetta figured he had an opportunity to play in the World Baseball Classic — just not with Team USA. Iannetta's parents were born in Italy and immigrated to the United States when they were around the ages of 8 and 6. This past winter, Iannetta kept in contact with Italy's team about the possibility of playing for Italy in the 16-team tournament that begins March 5. (Arizona Daily Star)
