After leading by as many as 16 points in the second half, No. 3 North Carolina disintegrated and allowed Maryland to score nine unanswered points in the final 98 seconds of regulation and force overtime en route to a stunning 88-85 victory at the Comcast Center on Saturday. “The best team won today,” an agitated Roy Williams told reporters during his postgame press conference.
