Chapel Hill named #7 best college town by Forbes
Posted Feb 14, 2009
Put it this way: You'll see many more Duke students making the short drive down Tobacco Road to Chapel Hill from Durham than vice versa. While home prices are less affordable than in Durham--at $387,808 for a median earner making $47,424--middle-of-the-pack crime rates and excellent schools (third best by our rankings) set UNC's backyard apart from that of the Dukies. Also, the Tar Heels finished 14th in last year's Director's Cup.
