As signing day nears, Heels seem to lead state

The future of college football in the Carolinas will come into focus Wednesday as players make their school choices official on national signing day. North Carolina will make headlines with a class that's likely to be ranked in the top 10 nationally. Duke will make progress with its best class in years, and Clemson will experience some painful results after the departure of coach Tommy Bowden. There isn't likely to be much suspense among the North Carolina prospects this week.
