A year after a little-known assistant coach named Geno Auriemma left the ACC women’s basketball showdowns in his rearview mirror to take over a moribund program at Connecticut, a southern belle named Sylvia Hatchell arrived in ACC country with a pair of national championships as a coach already to her credit. Tonight, with a national-television audience tuning in , the two Hall of Famers will serve at living proof that winning with an offensive flair never goes out of style.
