Casey Nogueira uses her feet
Posted Dec 9, 2008
Casey Nogueira won't brag on her left foot. But it's the one that scored the winning goal and gave North Carolina its second national soccer title in three years. "It's nothing compared to [teammate] Yael Averbuch's," Nogueira said Monday, a day after the Tar Heels beat undefeated Notre Dame 2-1 in the NCAA Women's College Cup at WakeMed Soccer Park. Nogueira scored both of UNC's goals after the team fell behind 1-0 after the first 16 seconds of play.
