Tar Heels are no longer alone at the top
Posted Dec 7, 2008
For almost two decades, when it came to women's soccer, North Carolina had no rivals. This weekend, the gap has never been closer. Friday, the Tar Heels held off UCLA in the semifinals of the NCAA Women's College Cup, beating a team that has been to more final fours in the past six years (six) than North Carolina (three). Today, the Tar Heels take on undefeated Notre Dame, which has a two-game winning streak against North Carolina and a star who chose the Irish over the Heels.
