Posted Nov 17, 2008
Once the Tar Heels got up to speed, they made it look easy. Rashanda McCants' 15 points led five players in double figures as North Carolina topped Virginia Commonwealth 77-65 in the second round of the Preseason WNIT on Sunday at the Smith Center. The win means the No. 6 Tar Heels (2-0) will host Xavier, a 62-59 winner at Indiana on Sunday, in a semifinal match at the Smith Center on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
