UNC gets commitment from WR prospect Erik Highsmith

A relative unknown in state recruiting circles has become the 18th player to join North Carolina's football recruiting Class of 2009. Erik Highsmith, a basketball-turned-football player at West Craven High School in Vanceboro, impressed the UNC coaching staff while performing as a wide receiver at the university's summer camp. The Tar Heels were the first and only school to offer him a scholarship.
