Although the Lakers had Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, it was James Worthy who stole the show. Worthy dazzled with his first career triple-double, recording 36 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists. This Hall-of-Fame performance helped lead the Lakers to a 108-105 victory. LA became the first team in 20 years to win back-to-back titles.
