Dorrance gave N.C. soccer a kick-start

It is fitting that Anson Dorrance is the first inductee into the N.C. Sports Hall of Fame who played or coached soccer. Dorrance is the father of modern soccer in this state, the man who founded the women's program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the coach who took the Tar Heels -- and later the United States -- to unparalleled heights.
