Freddie Jones starting over again

Former UNC tight end Freddie Jones, who recently joined the Carolina Panthers, says he wants to shed the label of being just a "receiving tight end" and focus on becoming a complete player in all facets of the game. "I got to a point in my career where a lot of people thought I'm 'Freddie the Receiving Tight End.' And honestly, there were a couple of other teams I was looking at in the offseason where that's what my role was going to be," he said. "But I came here and we all know what they like to do. These guys like to run the ball, and they do it well. So now I'm buying into that. I want to be an all-around tight end." In other words, he wants to shore up his blocking game.
