Barrington Edwards to get his shot
Posted Jun 16, 2005
Ronnie McGill's injury will give Barrington Edwards the chance to become the featured running back for the Tar Heels. McGill and Edwards were each expected to make major contributions in the UNC backfield this fall, but now the burden will fall entirely on Edwards, who arrived in Chapel Hill last summer after transferring from national powerhouse Louisiana State. Edwards was one of the nation’s top prep football players in 2001, when he ran for over 2,100 yards and 30 touchdowns in leading his team to a state championship.
