Raymond Felton is ready to advance to next level
Posted Jun 23, 2005
With a chance to quiet the Cameron Crazies, Raymond Felton came up anything but clutch. As the final seconds wore off the clock on Feb. 9, the North Carolina point guard drove left down the lane. Leaving several Blue Devils in his dust, he had an open look at the winning basket. Felton froze. He passed the ball to David Noel, and the shot clock expired. Duke escaped with a 71-70 victory. "I should have took it," said Felton. "It was a mistake." But, as the old adage goes, you learn from your mistakes. "From that moment on," North Carolina coach Roy Williams said, "I've never had anyone tougher."
