After nearly two years, BC an official part of the ACC

Boston College Athletic Director Gene DeFilippo has been watching the clock for a long time. Since Boston College accepted an invitation to join the Atlantic Coast Conference almost 17 months ago, DeFilippo has been filled with anxiety while negotiating the team's entrance into the conference and fighting legal battles that have sought to keep the team out of it. But when the clock struck midnight on July 1, all that mattered was that it was finally official: the University became the ACC's 12th member.
