Matt Baker finally gets his shot for Tar Heels

Thursday, September 08, 2005

It's finally Matt Baker's turn. And when the fifth-year senior takes the field for the first time as a starter Saturday, all the waiting will have been worth it. "This is what you prepare for," Baker said. "It's what as a backup you work hard every day in practice for - the day you finally get to start. I've seen a lot of things on the practice field, and it's time to take those things into the starting lineup and perform." (Lexington Dispatch)
