UNC debut falls short in the end

In the end, one comeback was all Matt Baker had in him in his long-awaited debut as North Carolina's starting quarterback. One wasn't enough. Baker's last realistic chance to put the visiting Tar Heels ahead of Georgia Tech was a pump-and-go deep pass that fell short of its intended target and into the hands of a gold-uniformed cornerback at the goal line.
