Tar Heels Donate $70,000 to Local Charities
Posted Sep 29, 2005
The UNC men's basketball program has contributed approximately $70,000 to four local organizations - the Interfaith Council Homeless Shelter on Rosemary Street, the Ronald McDonald House, Carolina's Student Aid Fund and the Pediatric Oncology/Hematology Department at UNC Hospitals. The money was raised through the sale of approximately 1,000 basketballs, autographed by the Tar Heel players and coaches during the 2004-05 national championship season.
