Backup center is done after shoulder surgery

North Carolina backup center Ben Lemming will miss the rest of the season after having surgery Thursday to repair a torn ligament in his right shoulder. Lemming, a 6-5, 301-pound sophomore from Houston, injured his shoulder in UNC's 27-21 season-opening loss at Georgia Tech. He sat out the next game against Wisconsin before returning to play at N.C. State. He injured his shoulder again in the UNC's 31-24 win over the Wolfpack and didn't play again. Lemming will receive a medical redshirt, which will leave him with three years of eligibility remaining.
