Longtime MLB catcher Chris Iannetta announces retirement

The New York Yankees placed catcher Chris Iannetta on their restricted list Friday, a transaction that is now more clear. Iannetta has retired after 14 seasons in the majors. Iannetta explained his decision, saying he told the Yankees that he was going to retire if he wasn’t on the major league roster. "If I didn’t make the team, I was going to call it a career."
