Casual fans may not know much about the opponent in Saturday night's opener, Gardner-Webb. Roy Williams knows plenty. "I'd like to play somebody that has a much bigger name and not nearly the game," he said. "We've got a bunch that has the game and not nearly as big a name." The Running Bulldogs return five starters from last year's team and are the preseason pick to win the Atlantic Sun Conference.
