Gardner-Webb not satisfied with moral victory

Gardner-Webb head coach Rick Scruggs contemplated the effect of Saturday night’s adventure on his squad, which clearly left its heart on the floor in the 83-80 defeat to the Tar Heels. “I told our guys ‘don’t let people pat you on the back and say what a great game it was that you lost,’” the 11th year head coach said. “This is just the first game of the season. Let’s not get used to losing.
