The University of North Carolina opened its NCAA title defense Saturday with a victory. But it wasn't easy. Not by a longshot. The Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb made it close before David Noel's 3-pointer in the closing seconds gave the Tar Heels a dramatic 83-80 victory at the Smith Center. (Kinston Free Press)
