'Big Four' schools can't match preseason goals in '05
Sat Dec 3, 2005
The state's ACC schools entered the season with dreams of reaching the inaugural league championship game, returning to a bowl or just getting a few wins. But the "Big Four" ended up with one thing in common: big disappointment. The schools combined to go 16-28 overall in the regular season and 10-22 in the league, marking the eighth straight season they combined to have a losing record and the 11th straight with a losing ACC mark. The schools haven't won a conference title in 16 years.
