Touted class of 2003 dwindles away

Former North Carolina quarterback Nick Cangelosi distinctly remembers the plaudits, the attention and the expectations of being part of the Tar Heels' top-20 recruiting class of 2003. "You had these kids like Adarius Bowman and Mike Mason -- these kids were some of the best athletes I've ever seen.'' When Mike Mason was dismissed from the team Thursday for breaking unspecified team rules, he became the 10th member that 26-player class no longer with the program.
