So barring something unforeseen, May's final rookie numbers will read as follows: 8.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 23 games, playing an average of 17.3 minutes. This is hardly what the Bobcats were hoping for when they selected May with the 13th pick in last summer's NBA Draft. They had May penciled in as a franchise cornerstone who would help them take a significant step up in their second season.
