UNC lands late prize

John Bunting has experienced his share of last-second disappointments on college football’s national signing day, including the well-documented loss of A.J. Davis to rival N.C. State in February 2002. But Bunting finally snared the big catch at the finish Wednesday as the nation’s No. 14-ranked defensive tackle prospect, Aleric Mullins from East Wake High in Wendell, signed a national letter-of-intent with the Tar Heels.
