North Carolina gets past Wake Forest


North Carolina caught Wake Forest squarely on its glass jaw yesterday and made off with an 83-72 victory at Joel Coliseum. The No. 23 Tar Heels, down by nine early in the second half, responded with a 28-9 flurry that put the Deacons down for the count. The Deacons scored 20 points over the final 18 minutes, converting nine of its last 32 possessions. (Winston-Salem Journal)
