Tar Heels win ugly

Saturday, March 11, 2006

North Carolina's standards have changed since it needed a last-second 3-pointer by David Noel to beat Gardner-Webb in the season opener back in November. "Like coach (Roy Williams) said, on a scale of one to 10, this was probably a two. We were lucky we got out with a win," Noel said Friday night after the 10th-ranked Tar Heels beat down Virginia for an ugly 82-71 ACC tournament victory. (Charlotte Observer)
