UNC women breeze to victory

Top-ranked North Carolina didn't have its high-octane offense revving, but it hardly mattered against overmatched California Riverside in the first round of the women's NCAA Tournament. The Tar Heels routed the Highlanders 75-51 at Vanderbilt's Memorial Gym last night and in doing so got off on the right foot in their pursuit of the national championship. (Winston-Salem Journal)
