No cramping Carolina's style, Heels advance to face Tennessee
Posted Mar 28, 2006
Ivory Latta, the Tar Heels' multitalented and mega-tough point guard, kept top-seeded North Carolina's season alive for at least one more game, making a layup with 2.8 seconds left for a 70-68 semifinal win over Purdue on Sunday in the NCAA tournament. Latta, who hit her game-winner with her calf muscle as tight as a drum, pushed the Tar Heels into the Cleveland Regional final against second-seeded Tennessee, which wore down Rutgers 76-69.
